Guides Queensland is developing a database of women who are
willing to give of their time and to also sponsor a female
student from a Brisbane secondary school to attend the
annual Women of Substance Mentor Breakfast.
It is only when Guides Queensland receive the girls
nomination form from their school that we know their career
interest. It is a massive job finding and matching up
mentors with these girls and their career choice
We would like you to nominate to be part of this worthwhile
community initiative by Guides Queensland to provide girls
the opportunity to come into contact with women in business
that can share their personal experiences, challenges and
varied journeys in their career/s.
The aim of the mentor breakfast is to:
• Create mentor relationships between professional women and
girls in year 11
• Assist students with a career focus,
• Provide network opportunities,
• Create the possibilities for workplace visits, and
• Showcase motivating guest speakers
Traditionally the breakfast has been held in late October
and the cost has been $50 which includes the sponsorship of
one student.
