2006 Mentor Breakfast a Huge Sucess!

The 2006 Mentor Breakfast was held at the Parliamentary Annexe on 27th October, 2006 from 7:00am to 8:30am.

It was attended by 92 Year 11 students from Brisbane secondary schools, 31 teachers and 50 mentors. Students were matched up by as many mentors as possible in their chosen career path.

Rowena Szeszeran-McEvoy, owner of the Australian Institute of Fitness was the guest speaker and provided not only the students but everyone in the room the inspiration and belief that they could do what ever each person wanted to do if they had the passion, drive and belief they could.

Kris Knight was pinned as Women of Substance during the event. Kris Knight Has worked in health and human services for 22 years, she has been a member of the Soroptimists for 20 years. She is an internal auditor - not accounting, administration auditor!! She is very friendly and willing to support Guides Queensland. She is currently studying Public Administration. She is an Effective Public Management Guru!! She started out as an ambulance officer and is currently a senior administrator with the Department of Public Works. She has chaired and sat on many forums and committees which promote women's status in the public sector. Congratulations Kris.
