What is Guiding?
Guiding is.....fun and games, new friendships, self-development, international opportunities, challenges, different crafts, earning badges, cooking, sailing, abseiling, hiking, canoeing, archery, swimming and lots of other outdoor fun.
Over 10 million girls and women in more that 140 countries are Guides. Guiding widens horizons for adults as well as children through friendship, hobbies, international contact, commitment, development of essential life skills and strengthening of faith. Guides provides a non formal education program that is dynamic, flexible and value based training in life skills, decision making and leadership.
Guides welcome girls and young women of all ages, nationalities and faiths. The special requirements of a particular faith or culture such as dress, diet and holy days are respected. Guides plan their activities with help (as needed) from their adult Leaders, so their activities vary from week to week.
